BC business-for-sale snapshot — September 2026. As of September 15, 2026.
Every figure on this page is computed directly from active MLS® business listings synced nightly from the CREA Data Distribution Facility (DDF®) — no third-party aggregation, no estimates. "Median asking price" and the price range are exactly that: what sellers are asking, not appraised or predicted values. "New this month" counts listings first seen in the current calendar month; "off-market" counts listings whose status changed away from active in the last 30 days (DDF only ever reports a listing as active or gone, never a sale price, so this is framed as "no longer listed," never a claimed sale).

New-listing counts use DDF's own historical MLS list date, so this is a real trend even though our own sync only began 2026-09-11. Off-market counts depend on our weekly reconcile job and will fill in as more weeks pass.

Methodology
Every count, median, and percentile on this page is computed directly from active BC business listings in our database at page-load time — no caching layer serves a stale snapshot, and no figure is estimated or sourced from a third party. Median asking price is the 50th percentile of list_price across active listings in that group; the typical range is the 25th–75th percentile. "With photos" is the share of active listings with at least one photo. "Median days listed" is computed from each listing's real MLS list date (listed_at), not from when our own sync first saw it.
Month-over-month deltas and a "top movers" changelog are planned once at least two full months of history exist in business_listing_status_history — this feed only began syncing 2026-09-11, so a genuine month-over-month comparison isn't possible yet. We'd rather show nothing than a comparison that isn't real.
